Free database and Script: HOT!

I've just discovered another opportunity for enterprising internet marketers - one which I'll be sure to take up myself. DB Seller, offers free large content sites which you simply download and install.

So far, they've put together a lyrics database, a quotes database, a jokes database, and a baby names database. They've taken great effort to create and develop sites for popular niches of the market. As the site itself says, all you need to do promote your site by submitting it to directories and wait for them to be indexed.

The only small price you do need to pay is by joining the forum, and by keeping two links to DB Seller active within your footer. The forums will also offer support and allow you to network with other webmasters using the same script.

Tools to boost your blog

I've just been talking to a collegue over at a forum, over ways to boost comments to your blog. He recommended me having a blog moved to a seperate domain, where I can have more control over the appearance and control of my blog.

Other suggestions included:

Having the site SEOD(optimised for search engines). Affordable small business seo can be hard to find but http://www.squareoneseo.com/ were recommended

Writing articles to promote site. Article submission such as that as searchwarp can provide quality links and traffic

Submitting a link to a Paid Premium Directory can also provided added visibilty to your site and lead to more visitors.

I'm definatly taking up the above routes, and I plan to focus over the next week or so on these. Talk to you soon.

Regardless of whether your doing business online or offline, customer care should be your primary concern. Do you know why? - Because the world is a small place, getting smaller every year.

You can now fly 600 miles for £39, send a message across the world to a mobile phone within minutes, receive an email from the other side of the world within seconds. The worlds changing, people communicate more & more importantly theres more choice.

No business has no competition & the consumer always has the choice to go elsewhere. In the past they may not have released this, but now hopefully everyone does.

Google, Yahoo all make it easy to find an alternative. And more importantly they also allow us to review other peoples experiences with companies & businesses before using them. This is something that the web is being used for more & more.

I'll give you an offline example. I recently had to get my tracking altered on my car, so I drove down to my local ATS. The tracking was done, the wheels were alligned which had saved me from purchasing a new tyre for a few months.

But a few days later, I noticed that the steering wheel was no longer inline with the car. Not a big problem - but something that annoyed me. After all something as simple as fixing my tracking had created another problem. Of course, it shouldn't have been created in the first place if ATS knew what they were doing & had done the job properly.

So, a few weeks ago I was with a collegue who also needed to go get his tracking done. I tagged along for the ride, and actively advised him not to go to ATS. Now, he took my advice and went elsewhere.

I, as a consumer have the choice to go elsewhere & as they messed up my vehicle, I have no faith in ATS & would never return to them.

So offline, I can recommend to my friends, family & collegues to avoid companies that I feel have provided poor service in the past to me.

Online, it's very different. Because I recommend my good experiences or share my bad ones to the world - not just friends and family.

Sites such as ReviewCenter or Virgin Active allow us all to publish my views on the world. And the more users who share there views, the more important the site becomes

So, the moral of the story is, if your running anykind of business - look after your customers. Occasionally things can go wrong, but it's how you handle them that matters. Can you turn around the suituation quick enough or have you lost me for life...

7 Questions To Ask Before Joining Any eBay Membership Site

Online there are a handful of eBay membership sites, showing you how to succeed on eBay. There's no doubt about it, eBay is a brilliant opportunity that you can use to maximise your online sales, run a home business or just clear out your house from unwanted goods.

Ideally an eBay membership site would guide you though everything you need to know from registering on eBay to becoming an eBay powerseller. So, Firstly the most important two questions I'd ask are:

1) Who's behind the site?

Anyone can claim to be an eBay expert, but there are truly only a few people who have had a positive effect on my eBay auctions - Brian McGregor, Mark Kenny, Tim Knox to mention a few names. There a lot of other people out there - claiming to be experts who I found offered recycled material with is not really relevant or even upto date.

So before I'd join any eBay membership I'd ask the following questions.

a) What have you done on eBay & what did you sell?
b) Are you still trading on eBay?
c) When did you register on eBay?
d) Is your information relevant to my local eBay or only useful to eBay.com?
e) Can I see your eBay feedback ranking?
f) What's included in my membership fee?
g) How long has your site been running?

These should give you a pretty good idea of what the sites like. Also, see how long you have to wait before you get a response back as this will be a good indication of the service you'll receive.

2) Membership Fee?

How much do you expect to pay or more importantly how much do you expect to make? If your membership fee is $197, that's not a problem as long as you learn enough to make that back.

I've paid thousands before for courses & membership sites & it's not been a problem as long as you put into action what you learn to make that membership fee back - Otherwise you might as well throw that membership fee away.

Also, be clear to find out if the fee is a one-off fee, a re-occuring annual fee or a re-occuring monthly fee. Can you pay via paypal or only via credit/debit card & also find out if it's possible to cancel or is there a minimum term to membership.

3) Whats included in my membership fee?

There are many avenues of how you can make money from eBay, from selling your own goods, by becoming an eBay Trading Assistant or by referring eBay to friends & family acting as an affiliate to eBay.

So what does the membership site focus on. Is it all of the above (and more ideal!) or is it purely a site for selling on eBay. This is not necessary a bad thing, as long as the membership site focuses on your needs.

Ask yourself what your needs are. Do you want to

* - Learn to sell on eBay
* - Drive traffic from eBay to your own website
* - Become an eBay PowerSeller
* - Become an eBay consultant
* - Sell digital goods on eBay

Additionally, does it offer you specific goals & help you set targets for your sales or just general advice. Most people need some serious motivation to put advice into action.

You'll also want to find out are the materials available in .PDF files, eBooks, Articles, Audio files or Camtasia Videos. Ideally you want a complete mixture of the above, plus some kind of personal consultation whether by email, though a members forum or even by phone.
4) How often is your content updated?

Ideally, the answer should be weekly or even daily. One of the main reasons to join an eBay membership site is to learn of the latest auction trends & niches so that you can cash in on them.

eBay membership sites should also contain

* - Articles on marketing on eBay
* - eBay ebooks & special reports
* - eBay blueprints for selling successfully
* - Interviews with successfull eBayers

Also, your eBay membership site should include reviews of the latest auction products so you can get an honest opinion before you part with your cash.

5) How long has the site been established?

The longer the better most would would assume, but if the site is not updated regularly any information may be out of date. So, look out for eBay membership sites that are ran by high-profile marketers. Do a bit of research by googling the name of the owner or the site name to see the results. You should quickly establish the credibility of any site online.

6) Does it have a referral program?

If you find the site invaluable & recommend it to friends, family & collegues do you get rewarded for this? Enquire it they run a referral scheme, so you can recommend the site to others.

One things for sure, once you start selling successfully on eBay people will contact you to enquire how your achieved success. Depending on how whether they are competiting with you or not you may want to share your secrets.

7) Special Offers

Finally whatever digital products I purchase, whether an ebook, special report or access to a membership site I always try to get a special offer. So, don't be shy. Look on the website to see if there are any special offers or even email the owner of the site & ask. The worst they can say is No, & you'll join at regular price.

eBay Membership Site

Now, I know my blog is about turnkey websites but most of the area(s) I deal with overlap with eBay. For example, I run a dropshipping website & most people taking advantage of dropshipping use eBay as a venue to sell the goods.

So, I'm always looking to improve my eBay knowledge, why things sell on eBay, why most things never sell? What's the best time to sell? & so on.

I've joined one or two similar eBay membership sites before & although I've found them useful, the information was a little thin & contents were easily available elsewhere. There's not one that I would really recommend to friends or family before.

Until now....

I've just discovered however Jason James Membership site. His site is packed full of exclusive content, in the form of articles & ebooks, a private members forum (one which is active - as oppose to all these empty forums I see), all in all I extremely pleased with the results.

Furthermore it's a low lifetime membership fee, not a re-occuring fee such as other sites so I recommend this one without hestitaion.

Once you've got your turnkey site transferred to your name/details you really need to start promoting it. Many people will head straight to services such as addme.com & submit there new site to as many engines as possible.

This really is the biggest myth & waste of time online, you no longer need to submit your site but you should instead let them find your site natuarally though incoming links. How do I get incoming links to a new site I here you scream...

Well, it's simple really. You can firstly advertise on sites that have a decent pr rating. Do a simple search of eBay & you'll find plenty of sites offering advertising on a high ranking google site.

Secondly you can swop links with other webmasters. Once site that makes it easy is LinkMetro.com which will find you link partners within minutes. Linkmetro also lets you view the site, the PR ranking before you agree to exchange links with it.

Although the customer support at linkmetro is close to non-existance it is a FREE service so should be considered essential. Despite the recent google update & rumors that link building is dead, I see link building as a major part of any internet marketing campaign.
